Christmaspalooza 2009!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Our holiday started out with me thinking that we were not going to get to go the farm to see my parents. We usually go to the farm for Christmas Eve, and then get up Christmas Day morning and drive to Mustang to spend the day with the Hutchersons. This year, however, we were afraid we might get snowed in at the farm. So, we left for the farm on Wednesday and made it without a problem. Then, we ended up only getting a couple of inches of snow up in the NW part of the state where we were. We soon found out that it was a different story here, and our Christmas Day celebration in Mustang was moved to the 26th because of the bad roads. We drove back to Norman on Friday afternoon, and I counted 186 cars stuck in the snow from the OKC limits to our house in Norman! The following pictures are chronologically backwards. Sorry!

Introducing CMG!

This is just a sneek peek at the newest little angel in our lives! I got to love on him and take pictures of him Thursday afternoon. I will post more soon.

Our big night out!

Wade and Amanda

Wade and I dressed up for the big night!

Me showing off all of my costume jewelry.

Wade and I went to a Murder Mystery, Roaring 20's Christmas dinner party last night at Cobble Stone Creek. The dinner and visiting with friends was great! Having a night out while Hayden was with Grani was also wonderful. 3 hours of reading lines off and on for the murder mystery, not so exciting. It was fun for the first hour, but after that it was too much. I knew I was in trouble when I was looking at my watch after I had read clue #17 and my next clue was #62. Oh well, it was a lot of fun getting all dressed up!

Christmas time in our house

I love having our house decorated for Christmas. I spend more time decorating our mantel for Christmas than our tree! (I get that from my mom) Just wanted to give everyone a peek since you guys don't trek to Norman that often!!

Hayden had his 18 month well baby check last week(at 19months) and everything was great. He is 28.5 pounds and 34 inches long. His legs are finally catching up with his belly! He has started singing along with songs in the car, and has started counting. He also went pee-pee in the potty for the first time last week.

Cousins!

I think that I had the best Thanksgiving ever this year. I am so fortunate that I am still able to continue my families 3 day Thanksgiving extravaganza now that I have a family of my own. We start cooking at the farm on Wednesday night, then have the entire extended family over on Thanksgiving day which was about 15 adults and 3 kiddos this year. On Thanksgiving night after the kids are asleep, we eat left over turkey and play games like Trivial Pursuit and this year Apples to Apples. On friday all of the girls go shopping to Alva, Fairview, or Woodward, where there are definitely no crowds to deal with! Then on Saturday we all watch the game and eat some more. This year my aunt and cousin let Hayden tour the fire station and ride on a fire truck while we were in town. He also got to ride on his great-uncle Darole's big green tractor which was possibly the highlight of his weekend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

new lens, and a new world

So I asked my friend Angela how to get the perfect portrait picture by using Photoshop, and she told me that it is more about your lens than your editing. So for Christmas I got a new lens for my camera for taking portrait shots, and I love it. And, only $90 on Amazon!!

washin' my wagon

Every single boy that I know and have known in the past has loved to wash his car. I guess it isn't weird that already my son loves to do it too.

"I love dipping the sponge in the bubbles!!"

"While we are out here, lets wash my wagon too."

little athlete

Hayden wants to take his "soccer ball" with us everywhere! He calls his basketball and football both soccer ball! Who knew we would still be playing outside in November without a coat on?

Before and After

Look at those beautiful curls!!

Today was a sad day for mommy!

Hayden sat so still in the chair for Miss Sarah while she cut his hair.

Now look at that handsome boy!

I really thought we could wait until Hayden was 2 to get rid of the curls, but they just kept getting longer while the hair on top of his head stayed short. Wade didn't love the baby-mullet as much as I did, so today was the day.

Halloween in Mustang

The week before Halloween Hayden trick-or-treated his Grani and Grandad in Mustang. We spent the day running around outside, talking to Bell the horse, and then dressing up and trick-or-treating Grani with all of the cousins.

Wild At Heart

One little boy +

the great outdoors +

A big pile of sticks =

Pure joy!!

I talk about how much Hayden loves to be outside all of the time, but it is so true. I have invested in some good winter gear for him so that the upcoming cold weather doesn't slow him down.
