2 year well child check!

We had Hay's 2 year well child check last week, (one month late), and somehow he is growing a lot even though he's eating like a 2 year old. He is 30 pounds 8 oz, and 36 1/4 inches tall. The biggest hit in the new house is our fort with sandbox that was already here in the yard.

One room down!

Cowboy lamp. (Thanks great-aunt Judy!)

My favorite thing in Hayden's room is this book rack on the wall. I have all of his nice books that he isn't quite old enough to look at on his own up there.

Hayden's room is completely finished except for a ceiling fan. I wish I had before pictures so you could see how bad it was. It had white walls with a super wide border of wall paper at the top that had eagles and mountains across it. We took it down and painted his room the first night that we moved in. (Thanks mom!) Today we got everything hung on the walls, and all of his books up on the shelves. It feels so good to have one room finished. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

what were they thinking?

Poor Hayden's bathroom in the new house is peach and blue seashells and bows! It is so terrible that it is the room getting the next renovation in our new house. His bedroom was the first room that we did and it is finished! I am going to get after the renovations in the new house and will be posting a lot of before and after photos!

Memorial Weekend 2010

Beautiful blue sky!

Hi Harpie!

Helping grandma water the flowers.

Fascinated with all of the flags and flowers.

Hayden and I made a quick trip to the farm for our annual Memorial Day weekend festivities and family reunion. We spend lots of time at the cemetery over the weekend which may sound weird to you if you don't come from a small town. But, it isn't strange at all, and since I grew up with this tradition, I love it. I love putting out the flowers, then going back to water the flowers, then going back to pick them up. (We put out real flowers in our house.) All the while, you are visiting with people that are also there doing the same thing, and of course remembering your loved ones. Hayden loved helping keep the flowers watered, and was amazed by the water pump that you actually have to pump to get water to come out.

This is it!

This is pic of the new house that we are moving to Tuesday. I haven't posted lately because of all of the packing and drama that goes along with moving. The new place is walking distance from our current house, so have no fear about finding us. We have lots of work to do in the new house, so it may be a while for an official house-warming, but feel free to call and come by anytime after next week.

Hayden had a robot party complete with wind-up robot party favors, build your own flying robot out of recyclables, and robot bubbles! We had so much fun with the family, and I will post more pics of the party later. Two years has just flown by so fast!
